I am a 19 year old without a direction of study, who is often skeptical of many things you might take for granted as truth. I really do enjoy writing, and this will be my outlet. Within the bounds of this website you will come to find criticism on topics varying in importance and sensitivity, and I forewarn you now to leave if you are too narrow minded to allow your beliefs to be challenged, as I do not intend to censor myself as it is your choice to navigate here. Philosophies, religion, morals, rationales…. all are subject to critique. With that out of the way, let me reiterate that not all posts will be serious in nature, and I assure you that there will be as many equally enjoyable posts on the lighter side of things.
Before we go much further, let me say to you that I am an Atheist, and I believe it is important that I state this for multiple reasons. If you were to ask people what they thought about atheists and what they thought the word meant, all to often you get something far from the truth. Being an atheist means that you simply do not believe in a deity or supernatural power or god. Despite this simple definition, somehow there is an amazing list of negative connotations and misconceptions about what it means, and I think by only being open about the issue can we dispel such nonsense. It’s easy to say that it is easier to stand along side a group than stand alone in ones beliefs, and it is for this reason that it is important for me and others to be open about their views on religion. Individuals from communities or families of faith, whether they be diehard or moderate, often times have a hard time revealing how the feel to others and sometimes even not accepting it themselves.
And finally, I would like to finish by saying that I completely and wholly invite you to comment and critique my posts to the fullest extent. All I ask is that you ensure your arguments, whether you agree or disagree with me, are well thought out and written in a way that wouldn’t completely embarrassing should your English teacher find out. I really do not want “lul dud i rlly h8 u so much”. Kind of on that same note, I also do not want any religious propaganda. Defending a religion is okay as long as your not trying to convert me in the process. If I see someone posting garbage like “This blog is blasphemy / The Lord still loves you! / Your going to hell!” I will delete the comment and ban your ass with a smile. “This is not actually so, it is catholics specifically that believe that and not all Christians” is absolutely fine and I in fact welcome such a response.
